Division 1: Ciara Martin, Oak Park Raiders, Forward #18
Ciara added some spark to her team against the powerhouse Glenlawn Lions on Thursday. She was all over the ice on every shift from the start of the game to the very end. The Raiders fell in a close battle with a 4-3 loss to the Lions but Ciara assisted in a last ditch effort late in the third to close the gap. The next day they faced the VMC Trojans where she continued her powerful offensive game by opening the scoring for the Raiders with a beautiful smile over the Vmc goalie’s shoulder. She added an assist on the next goal to take the Raiders first lead of the game. Her strong play and communication with her teammates helped her team to a 5-2 win over the Trojans. Congratulations Ciara!
Division 2: Maxine Normandeau, CSLR Renards, Forward #2
Maxine is recognized for her offensive spark, consistently creating offensive opportunities and generating high quality shots on goal. Her vision and passing accuracy aids in her ability to set up her teammates for multiple scoring chances. She played an integral role in the forecheck, pressuring the opposition and winning crucial puck battles in a close 2-1 victory over the JH Bruns Broncos on Monday. On Friday, the Renards faced off against the John Taylor Pipers where Maxine scored 2 goals and added an assist in a 6-0 win. She worked tirelessly and constantly created scoring chances by putting relentless pressure on the Pipers. Congratulations Maxine!
Division 3: Jordan Clark, Beausejour Barons, Forward #14
Jordan has an increasingly positive attitude and is a true leader who inspires her teammates in a respectful and graceful manner. On Wednesday she scored the lone goal for the Barons to force their game in to over time with the SJR Eagles. She continued to work hard at both ends of the ice but unfortunately the Eagles managed to sneak in another goal and the Barons fell in a 2-1 OT loss. The next day she started right where she left off by being an “energizer bunny”. She never stopped skating even when the Barons were down by three goals after the first period. Jordyn brought her team back to life by picking up a pass, driving hard and ripping her teams first goal in the second period. Although the Barons lost 5-3 to Murdoch MacKay, she never gave up, just skated even harder. Congratulations Jordan!
