Division 1: Payton Durand, CJS Olympiens, Forward #25
Payton took her game to a higher level in a big 3-1 win against the SMA Flames on Tuesday. She drove her team to victory in the third period as she came out flying. Every shift felt like she was creating a chance for her team to score and that reflected in her having a hand in every Olympien goal, netting 2 herself and assisting on the other. In game two she scored 1 goal and generated lots of offence, making tight turns and moves around numerous players all game. She cycled the puck very well and had a huge impact on the Olympiens 4-0 win to claim the series and their ticket to the finals. Congratulations Payton!
Division 2: Mikayla Clarkson, Selkirk Royals, Forward #5
Mikayla was the hardest working player on the ice in game one against the CPET Canadiennes on Monday. She battled for pucks and never gave up, showing off her lethal shot while facilitating many opportunities for her teammates. She scored 2 goals and added 2 assists making herself instrumental in the Royals 6-4 comeback win. In game two on Tuesday, she helped open the score with an assist on the Royals first goal in their 4-1 victory to win the series. Mikayla’s speed, skill and outstanding performance played a pivotal role in securing the Royals spot in the championship series. Congratulation Mikayla!
Division 3: Ella Harkness, PCI Saints, Forward #3
Ella showed her playoff spirit with her desire to win and a great display of skills in the PCI Saints semi-final series against Murdoch MacKay. On Monday, she was a standout player as she scored 1 goal and added 2 assists in the Saints dominant 4-1 comeback win over Murdoch where they scored 4 unanswered goals in the third period. Her offensive prowess was key in breaking down the opposition and securing the victory for her team. Ella’s performance showcased her playmaking ability and leadership on the ice. In game two on Wednesday, she gave a repeat performance, scoring a short handed game winning goal and adding 2 assists. She worked hard, never gave up and her performance helped her team win the series with a deciding 5-2 victory. Congratulations Ella!
