Division 1/2 - East: Cady McAuley, River East Kodiaks, Forward #9
The Kodiaks are back as they had a great week starting off on Wednesday with a hard fought 4-3 win over the CSLR Renards. Cady was dangerous all game with her ability to wind up and wheel. She generated breakaway after breakaway that resulted in 2 goals including the OT winner by stealing the puck in front of the CSLR bench, and busting in to the zone to tuck the winning goal. On Friday, her steading presence and finishing ability were crucial in a 2-2 tie over the Selkirk Royals. Congratulations Cady!
Division 1/2 - West: Aubrey Sykes, Westwood Warriors, Forward #16
Aubrey Sykes played a solid game in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Shaftesbury Titans on Thursday. She was all over the ice, digging out the puck and back checking consistently and even netting a goal. The next day she picked up where she left off by scoring 2 goals and adding an assist in a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Sanford Sabres. Aubrey was effective in the offensive zone throughout the game, posing a threat every time the puck was on her stick and tipped in a shot from her defensive teammate for the win. Congratulations Aubrey!
Division 3: Grace MacDonald, SJR Eagles, Defence #13
Grace began the week with precise head’s up passing while her vision and playmaking ability consistently created scoring chances. Her composure and leadership were key factors in helping SJR beat Murdoch by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday, as she popped one assist. The next day she continued with a really strong game both defensively and offensively. She worked hard on the PK and PP with positive outcomes and was a key factor in her team’s comeback with a 4-3 win over the Springfield Sabres. Congratulations Grace!
