Division 1: Lara Stubbs, Glenlawn Lions, Forward #3

When the going gets tough the tough get going and that is what Lara Stubbs did when their all star goalie got sick and couldn’t play. Without any thought or hesitation Lara jumped on board as their new goalie even though she had not played goal this season and only had one practice. In game one against the powerhouse CJS Olympiens, Lara stopped 21 of 23 shots in a thrilling 3-2 victory. Two days later Lara showed her desire again to win by stopping 29 of 31 shots and leading her team to a 5-2 victory and ending the series. Congratulations Lara!

Division 2: Callie Pinkerton, Oak Park Raiders, Goalie #1

Callie Pinkerton came up BIG by leading her team to 2 wins over the tenacious West Kildonan Wolverines. Game one saw Callie stop all 19 shots coming her way with 3 tremendous stops that were game winners. The Wolverines started game two with relentless forechecking and back checking but Callie was not to be denied as she stopped 46 of 47 shots and the Raiders won by a score of 4-1. Hot goalies can take a team deep into the play offs and that is what Callie is doing. Congratulations Callie!

Division 3: Sara Taylor, Murdoch MacKay, Goalie #1

Sara Taylor started the series with a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Dakota Lancers stopping 12 of 13 shots with 4 outstanding saves. Game two saw the Lancers work hard and skated away with a 3-2 win with Sarah stopping 26 of 29 shots. In game three, the tie breaker, Sara was super composed throughout the game. Her team had a 2-0 score in the third period and she was not going to let Dakota back in this game. She played big and played her angles as Murdoch won by a score of 3-1. Congratulations Sara!
