Volunteer 19 Years * 2003-2022
From the Sabres:
Tammy Klippenstein has been dedicated to the Sanford Sabres’ Women’s hockey team for 19 years, serving as the teacher representative from Sanford Collegiate. She been instrumental in keeping the team going by encouraging participation. One effective strategy has been working with veteran players to recruit younger ones. One year, there weren’t enough players to form a viable team. Tammy was willing to supervise a practice team for the entire season, in hopes of keeping enough interest to form a viable team the next year - and it worked!
Over the years, Tammy has helped players bond, to be good teammates and form friendships. She supports them when they face challenges, whether it be at school or at home, and holds team discussions when issues arise. She has always demonstrated a caring commitment to our players, and to the community around them, supporting team events that contribute back to the community.
Tammy has also recruited coaching staff and facilitated some tough conversations with coaches. Tammy ensures the players are treated with respect and all on the team have a chance to play and have fun.
From the WWHSHL:
