Division 3 - WKC Wolverines

About Us

Since its comeback in 2009, the West Kildonan Collegiate Female High School Hockey Program has been in the WWHSHL for 9 consecutive years.  Our high school program accommodates players who have played in the AAA, AA, A and B Community Programs.  In addition, ringette players have been able to make an easy transition to hockey through our program while maintaining their participation in competitive ringette programs. Student-athletes who have had little opportunity, but great desire, to learn the skills needed to play hockey have also added to our program, with their fresh willingness to learn providing much inspiration over the years.  Highlights over the last 9 years include claiming a Winnipeg Free Press Championship in 2011; achieving league semi-finalist status for multiple seasons; competing for 6 years in the Winnipeg Free Press Division and 2 years in the CTV Division; representing the Wolverines at WWHSHL Jets and Vets All-Star Games; earning WWHSHL top scorer, MVP and Sportsmanship Awards; watching some players graduate and move on to play at the competitive U.S. and Canadian university level as well as the Junior Women’s Hockey League and, perhaps most proudly, seeing our women’s hockey program advance even further with the support of former players who have made the commitment to return to our bench in a coaching capacity.  The Wolverines accommodate a huge range of talent. All that is required is a strong work ethic and heart!
